Pond Reflections

I have been in the mountains for meetings the last few days and managed to talk few images while I was there. This pond was a short walk from the retreat center.

12 days old and already pushing 7 feet tall!

This is a newborn Reticulated Giraffe calf that was born on August 20, 2008 at the Denver Zoo.

A bridge too far...

I found this bridge during a walk yesterday. I enjoy making images this this...I think it makes you want to know what is on the other side.

Old tree reflection

This old looking tree sits right on the edge of a pond close by. The bird was added in post.

This old church building is just outside of downtown Denver.

I got a chance to revisit this location to get a closer shot this time.

Sisters in Tanzania

This is my favorite image. I took this shot on a trip to Tanzania last year. These two girls are sisters who live in a village on the side of Mt. Meru. 

One of the little ones...

This young fox was part of a family of 6 (mother and 5 kits) that moved in under our front porch awhile back. This was the bravest of the group even though it was the runt of the litter.

Reflections

This bench sits in a small park close by. The water was dead calm when I walked by and I couldn't resist the reflections.

Let there be weeds...

There were so many of these in my yard I thought I would photograph one!

Flower Abstraction

I got a great view on a building storm on my drive home today. It finally rained!

Grey Heron returns...with a friend

This beautiful Heron frequents the river next to where we run our dog each day. Today he (or she) brought a friend, the Black-crowned Night Heron seen below.

Waiting for the toss...

Everyday we (my wife mostly) take our dog to a local dog park near Chatfield Reservoir. She runs off leash and her favorite stop is swimming for treats in one of the ponds.  The shot show her eagerly waiting for my wife to throw a treat for her to swim to. Such intense concentration!

Small Running Stream

This was a shot taken close to my house. I know they are old hat, but I love images of running water like this.

Mount Rushmore shots

Here is a pretty traditional postcard shot of Mount Rushmore.

These two were a little less conventional. I love the texture of the rock on the faces.

These images were taken a a classic car auction I ran into today. I couldn't resist the abstract reflections in all that chrome.
